Baccarat House & Cristal Room - Moscow, Russia

Baccarat House Moscow
19-21 Nikolskaya Street

Moscow 109012

Contact: +7 (495) 933-33-89

Moscow's Baccarat House opened in February 2008, five years after its first location in Paris. Located by Lubyanka metro station, the building was a former pharmacy, designed by Adolf Erichson in 1895. It features Neo-Renaissance/Baroque style exteriors. It stands out on the street thanks to its tall and pointed chimney adorned with a huge clock.

The Baccarat company's links to Russia can be traced back to 1860, when Tsar Nicholas II is said to have been one of the most passionate fans of the Baccarat crystal. A custom-made candelabrum, with 79 candles and more than 3 metres high, was created for him by Baccarat artisans.

Philippe Starck is the designer for the mansion's interiors. The contrast of shining crystals against naked light walls was his main concept. The complete Baccarat collections, from lighting pieces to watches, are on display on the ground floor.

Cristal Room
Located on the second floor of the mansion is the Cristal Room. The Cristal Room Baccarat serves lunch and dinner, consisting of fine French cuisine inspired by Russian flavours. Seafood is shipped in daily from France and served on the world's finest dishware. Meat is spit roasted (according to Lyon tradition). Chefs David Desseaux and David Hemmerle work with a team of 20 employees to offer a range of dishes, from the simplest to the most sophisticated.

My perfect future home would consist of Baccarat furnishings, also preferably custom-designed by Philippe Starck. The Paris location of Baccarat House is also amazing. It looks like something I've always pictured in my mind to be my dream home.
